RCP is hosting a webinar to provide information to support the provincial roll-out of this practice resource.

Revised Unanticipated Birth Resource – RCPs Unanticipated Birth: Guidelines for Labour Assessment, Imminent Delivery, and Transfer has been updated. This resource has been developed to support health care professionals who do not routinely deliver babies as part of their usual practice. It is intended to provide guidance and support to safely and effectively assess and care for labouring/birthing persons. Go to the RCP website to see the full practice guideline.

Updated DCPNS Practice Resource - The ‘Pregnancy and Diabetes: Approaches to Practice’ (2021) manual has been revised and is available for use. It replaces the last manual released in 2014. Covering the preconception to the postpartum periods for individuals with pre-existing diabetes (type 1, type 2, or MODY) or gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), this resource is intended for diabetes care providers (diabetes educators, physicians and nurse practitioners), obstetrical unit staff, and others with an expressed interest in diabetes in pregnancy. Updated Rh Program Resources – The Rh Program of Nova Scotia has updated the following resources. They can be accessed on the Rh Program of NS website.


Updated NACI Guidelines on Covid Vaccines for Pregnancy and Breastfeeding – The Public Health Agency of Canada has updated their guidelines on Covid vaccines for individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding. For more information see the updated guideline here.


PHAC Family Centered Maternity Care Guidelines - Updated versions of Chapter 8: Organization of Services and the Epilogue of the Family-Centered Maternity and Newborn Care: National Guidelines have been recently released. These Guidelines are dedicated to improving and creating consistency in maternal and newborn health and to inform evidence-based practice across Canada. The aim of the guidelines is to positively impact health from preconception to postpartum, and throughout the life course of children and families. Breastfeeding Committee for Canada Free Webinar – The Breastfeeding Committee for Canada is hosting a webinar led by Parent Partners on the topic of breastfeeding inequities across health systems and finding solutions through empowering patient voices– Infant Security in Canada. World Breastfeeding Week - World Breastfeeding Week is  October 1st - 7th, 2022. This year’s theme is “Step Up for Breastfeeding – Educate and Support”.
