The Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) promotes excellance in nursing practice to improve health of women and newborns.

The Breastfeeding Committee for Canada (BCC) was established in 1991 as a Health Canada initiative following the World Summit for Children. The BCC has a broad membership of professional and consumer organizations including representatives from the Aboriginal Nurses Association of Canada, Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses and Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program, Canadian Association of Midwives, Canadian Healthcare Association, Canadian Institute of Child Health, Canadian Lactation Consultant Association, Canadian Nurses Association, Canadian Paediatric Society, Canadian Perinatal Programs Coalition, Canadian Pharmacists Association, Canadian Public Health Association, College of Family Physicians of Canada, Dietitians of Canada, Federal/Provincial/Territorial Group on Nutrition, Health Canada - Childhood and Youth Division, INFACT Canada, La Leche League Canada, Ligue La Leche, Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada, UNICEF Canada, and individual breastfeeding experts. The vision of the BCC is to establish breastfeeding as the cultural norm for infant feeding within Canada.

The BCPHP works towards optimizing maternal, neonatal, and fetal health in British Columbia through educational support to care providers, outcome analysis, networks and multidisciplinary perinatal guidelines. It works with hospitals, health authorities, community agencies, academic institutions and private practitioners to effectively link perinatal health care data and research to education and professional needs of care providers across BC.

Canadian Institute of Child Health (CICH) is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of children and youth in Canada.

The CPSS is an ongoing national health surveillance program delivered through the Bureau of Reproductive and Child Health in the Laboratory Centre for Disease Control (LCDC). Its mission is to contribute to improved health for pregnant women, mothers and infants in Canada.

The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention(CDC), located in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, is an agency of the Department of Health and Human Services. CDC Mission is to promote health and quality of life by preventing and controlling disease, injury and disability.

The CPS is the country's prime resource on infant, childhood, and adolescent issues, and is regularly consulted by government, media, the general public, and health care professionals.

The creation of a province-wide infrastructure and systems has been identified as key to integrating IT throughout the continuum of care. HITS-NS has been engaged by the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness to lead, develop and manage this provincial infrastructure. Instrumental to the success of these initiatives has been the ability of HITS-NS to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across the health care system
