Nova Scotia Provincial Breastfeeding Policy

The Departments of Health and Health Promotion & Protection hold a firm and unequivocal position in favour of breastfeeding. Nova Scotia has a Provincial Breastfeeding Policy, which has been in place since October 2005. The Provincial Breastfeeding Steering Committee and five Working Groups support implementation of the policy and serve as a forum to ensure integration of breastfeeding across the continuum of care in Nova Scotia.
