Endometriosis and Chronic Pelvic Pain Clinic –

The Endometriosis and Chronic Pelvic Pain (E & CPP) Clinic at the IWK was created to support people living with persistent pelvic pain (often related to endometriosis) through a coordinated, interdisciplinary care approach. The goals of the clinic include supporting patients to:

  • Better understand and manage pelvic pain
  • Improve daily function, including physical activity, sleep, mood, and relationships
  • Access coordinated, evidence-informed treatment
  • Develop personalized strategies for long-term well-being

Access to the E & CPP Clinic is through a referral from a healthcare provider, such as a family physician, nurse practitioner, or gynecologist. A referral form must be submitted before an initial appointment can be scheduled. Referrals are accepted for individuals who:

  • Have had a gynecological evaluation within the past five years
  • Experience persistent pelvic pain most days for six months or more
  • Have not improved with first- or second-line treatments for endometriosis or chronic pelvic pain

If you would like to learn more about the E & CPP Program, please visit Endometriosis and Chronic Pelvic Pain Program | IWK Health | Pain Management in Nova Scotia.

Do you provide care to people who experienced hypertension during pregnancy?

The Department of Anesthesia at IWK Health is conducting research to learn how to better provide information and referral to pregnant persons when their pregnancy is complicated by hypertension.

The study aims to design evidence based, shared decision referral pathways for people who would benefit from cardiovascular risk reduction. Additionally, researchers want to understand the challenges faced by these individuals and their providers within the health care system in Nova Scotia.

Participation in the study involves a 1-hour focus group. Participants will receive a $15 gift card, an improved understanding of the link between hypertensive pregnancy and future cardiovascular disease, and an opportunity to discuss concerns with an interdisciplinary group of providers.

For more information and/or if you are interested in participating in the study, call or email a member of the study team here: AnesthesiaResearch@iwk.nshealth.ca, (902) 470-7473
