The RCP has published the findings of a provincial quality assessment review of induction of labour in Nova Scotia. The assessment took place at three District Health Authorities and at the IWK Health Centre between April 2007 and January 2009 and is based on the review of health records of over 250 women who underwent induction. The 73-page report includes data from the Nova Scotia Atlee Perinatal Database and presents eight key recommendations emphasizing the importance of inducing women appropriately to avoid unnecessary intervention, utilize resources effectively and promote safe care.
