Maternal Newborn Orientation Learning Modules
These self-directed learning modules have been developed for nurses working with childbearing women, newborns and families throughout Nova Scotia. They are intended to compliment, not replace, maternal-newborn education and orientation programs. The range of topics covered includes:
- Prenatal Assessment and Screening
- The Process of Labour and Birth
- Supportive Care in Labour
- Introduction to Breastfeeding
- Assessment of the Newborn
- Postpartum Nursing Care
Modules will be posted as they become available. To view the modules you will need Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 or Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 2007 which you can download here.
The PowerPoint files range in size from about 10 to 25 megabytes and may take several minutes to download to your computer before opening. Please select a module from the list below.
